It's been so long since I've been on here so I need to bring things to the present.  Last spring semester ended with my daughter Remi finishing second grade and my son Deegan graduating from pre-k.  We were all SOOO excited about summer starting and then we had a change of plans.  My doctors decided to finally schedule my foot reconstructive surgery in Colorado and we had a little over a month to plan our ENTIRE summer vacation.  Thankfully I have a mother with slight OCD for organizing so she was a HUGE help getting the kid's to where they needed to be and to rearrange everyone's life into taking care of me.  I love my mom.  :)  So my husband and I went out to Colorado  to get me a new foot and then we sat..................and sat................. and sat some more.  It was extremely frustrating just laying in bed in beautiful Colorado but it's over now and school is already going again.

Now I have Remi in 3rd grade and my baby in Kindergarten.  Where has the time gone?!?!?!  These past few days have been pretty lonely without Deegan running around, but I have kicked myself into organize mode. (with the help of my mother of course). ;)

So now it is time to show my latest and greatest pinterest creation.

                                       The Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken.

It turned out AMAZING and is definitely a keeper!  I hope everyone's summer was a blast and your school year started off without a hitch!

Til next time...

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Today I decided to make Nutter Butter Cupcakes for my husband and kids.  I had some left over so I took them down to his work.  They turned out really good!

So to finish off our Valentine's day gifts for my daughter's school, we made a cute basket of Hershey hugs for her teacher.  Again another idea I found on pinterest, but really, you almost can't help but love some of the things on there!  I will upload pictures so you can see!

The little note says, "A teacher can't live by 'apples' alone.  She needs "Hugs' too!

So this weekend Remi and I decided to be crafty and do something different for her Valentine's Day gifts.  I found the cute gift on Pinterest, of course, and it ended up being a lot of fun with the neighborhood kids helping out.  It would've been a bit easier if I actually had punches, but scissors worked just as well.  :)  We decided to make little play-doh kits for her friends in her class to take home and make.  We added salt and flour plus a kool-aid packet.  On the back we added directions on how to make your own playdoh.  If anything, the parents could always throw the salt and flour away and just make kool-aid, but I thought it would be fun for the kids to do.  Just wanted to post how it turned out!

Hello and thanks for viewing my brand new blog.  I'm starting this blog to help keep track of all the crafts I try and mostly the cakes my friend Melissa and I make together.  This past weekend ended up being a very busy weekend for us but it was a complete blast.  We both love when the finished product is done and we get excited to see the people's faces who receive our cakes.  My daughter's 8th birthday party was this past weekend and we decided to make her a piano themed cake.  She has recently began to take piano lessons and has really taken a liking to it.  (This is pretty big since she has tried so many other things)  We decided to put a music note on top and she loved it.  That cake was a rainbow cake inside (which I love to do for kids because they are so surprised)

The next cake we made was for my mom and her Superbowl party.  This one took us some time because we wanted the helmets to come out good.  We both felt that it came out simple, but we thought that was the best thing for this cake.  We were really pleased with this one.
Now I'm going to try and figure out how to post pictures so you can see our finished products.  Wish me luck!  :)
